Using Boris FX 5.0 with Premiere 6.0
Some of you may have noticed that when using a Boris FX
5.0 transition in Premiere 6.0 to edit digital video you may see a
blurring and slight stretching of the video during the transition.
This is caused by the conversion of the video from DV 0.9 pixels to square
1.0 pixels and back again. This blurring is fixed in Boris FX 6.0,
or you can work around it in Boris FX 5.0. The work around is
accomplished by selecting the transition portion of the timeline as the
work area, then changing the project settings to square pixels and
exporting a movie of the work area. Next razor the timeline at the
beginning and end of the transition and cut the video and transition from
the timeline and paste the video clip you just created in place of
it. You will also need to change the project settings back to DV
pixels.

Adobe Premiere fixes
For those people using Adobe Premiere 5, it is important
that if you use Windows 2000 Professional you should make sure that you
have the latest version of Premiere which is 5.1c. If you need to
update your copy of Premiere you can get the files from the Adobe
web site .
If you are running Windows 2000 it would be even better if you upgrade
your copy of Premiere to 6.0. Only do this if any video editing
hardware you are using (i.e. DV500 or RT2000) has finished drivers that
support Windows 2000. If you also experience any crashes, abnormal
shutdowns or system hang-ups when in any version of Premiere you need to
disable the Premiere preferences before you use Premiere again. You
can find out more about this by going to the Premiere general operating
problems section in the support area on the Adobe
web site .

Capturing analog video in Premiere with DVRex 2.91 software doesn't
work
There is a known issue in the 2.91 version of the
DVRex software that will not allow the user to capture analog video from
within Premiere. This will be fixed in the next DVRex software
release which is due out by the end of this month, but until then people
will have to capture analog video in the Canopus software and then import
