DVI-4020 required for DV output from dpsVelocity
without rendering
For customers who are getting a dpsVelocity and want to
also use FireWire you should buy the DVI-4020 DV I/O card (DPS5010)
instead of a generic FireWire card. For someone on a budget, using a
generic FireWire card like the PYRO makes sense. However, when you want to
output DV from the dpsVelocity the DVI-4020 will let you export without
rendering while the generic card will require that the footage be rendered
before it can be exported back to DV. The DVI-4020 also gives the user
more reliable video capture (fewer dropped frames) and more accurate
device control.

TitleMotion 3.5 and Velocity 7.5 compatibility issue
Adam at Inscriber technical support has informed us of a
compatibility issue between the Velocity 7.5 software from Leitch/DPS-US and
the current 3.5 version of TitleMotion for the dpsVelocity. The
TitleMotion 3.5 software depends on the presence of a previous Inscriber
software installation in order for TitleMotion to install and run
properly. Since Inscriber CG was included with the Velocity software
up until the 7.1 release this was not a problem. As of Velocity
version 7.5, it no longer includes Inscriber CG so TitleMotion doesn't
work. Adam has put a file on the Inscriber
ftp site
that you can download and install. Once this program is installed on
your system you can successfully install TitleMotion 3.5. Inscriber
is getting ready to release TitleMotion 4.2 for the dpsVelocity and this
will install on a system using Velocity 7.5 without any problems.

driver fixes a problem that could cause previewer to crash and a problem
with frame Jumping/Skipping has been resolved. The updated driver
