CINEMA 4D 8.1 update available
MAXON Computer has released an update to
their CINEMA 4D R8 animation software. This 8.1 update is
available as a free download from the MAXON
Computer web site
for registered users of both the Macintosh and PC versions of CINEMA
4D. Among the changes made by upgrading to 8.1 are better OpenGL
support, 20 new Xpresso nodes, support for the HDRI-format in the
Advanced Render module, three new functions in Thinking Particles and
more.

LightWave [7] compatibility issue with
BodyPaint 3D on the Mac
There is a known bug when using LightWave 7.0 under
Mac OS X that causes the BodyPaint 3D exchange plug-in to not work
properly. It does not correctly export an object back to
LightWave. You can still import a LightWave object into BodyPaint
3D. This problem does not exist on earlier versions of the Mac
OS. LightWave versions 6.5 or 7.0 on the PC and LightWave version
6.5 on the Mac do not have any problems working with BodyPaint 3D.
